This is the second time I have participated in the Sweet Pouch exchange hosted by Ros from Sew Delicious. I love the concept of creating a zip pouch and filling it with all sort of goodies from where you live and sending it to a partner that can be located anywhere in the world. Of course I love receiving said goodies as well. Because what goes well with chocolate? More Chocolate!!
My partner was Stacey from Stacey’s Place and she told me she has a serious love for Japanese crafts. As soon as I heard that I knew that I wanted to do something Zakka related (well, also because I just really wanted to do something Zakka related). I had found this gorgeous printed japanese fabric that looked just like roof tiles, so I made a house pouch from Zakka Style
I had some lovely fabric left over from my Valentine’s Day mini-quilt , so I used a few scraps and had enough left for coordinating lining.
I have been trying to make sure to label all of my swap creations lately, because I know it’s easy to forget where you got things from. I didn’t want to put a quilt label on the back, so I just hand embroidered my name for Stacey to remember me!
Isn’t that bunny button the cutest? I love it! And I found that ricrac in the vintage sewing cabinet that my mother in law purchased in an estate sale. (I’m still so jealous of that purchase, it came full of notions and a fold out cabinet with a sewing machine, going through it over the holidays was like a treasure hunt!!)
I had included lots of Taiwanese chocolate and some Japanese sweets and also included some Japanese crafts for Stacey to try out. I always love shopping for swaps, because I have an obligation to make sure everything I send is delicious. It’s a sacrifice, really..
This was a really fun swap and I will share with you what I got from Stacey in the next post!
