Participating in Kids Clothes Week this season was kind of a last minute decision, so I didn’t have an opportunity to prepare patterns and fabric in advance (something I would want to do the next time around) but since the spirit of KCW is to be able to to spend an hour each day sewing for your kids, I figured it would give me a nice push (because I have oh so much time on my hands.. ha ha ha…. *cries*) Yesterday and today I spent my hour+ making Aleks (my 4 months old not-so-newborn) some harem pants. First of all, my husband HATES harem pants with a passion! It’s almost like he has a personal vendetta against them and it’s his goal in life to show harem-pants-wearing-people their wrong doings. But I happen to think that harem parents are Ah-dorable on kids!! Especially chubby little babies.
Kids Clothing Week: Project #1
I was super happy to see a pattern for “Best Harem Pants” by Too Sweets Pattern included in Sew Fab bundle that I got earlier this month. Due to the knit I chose, my version of the pants had skinnier legs than it should have and although I think it works well on the flowery one, I might re-sew the blue one to be just below the knee pants because the ankles are too tight for my taste, but that is most likely due to somebody getting OVERLY happy with her serger’s cutting abilities. (Hint: it’s me).
I did everything except attaching the waist band on my serger, which is both good and bad. Good because it’s quick and the seams look nice and finished. Bad because I’m still figuring my serger out and there are some loose threads and uneven lines and hmm as I mentioned before over zealous cutting.
Still, I consider the first project of KCW a success! And best of all, looking at the finished product, Mr A Stitch in Between said “Oh, these are cute! Did you make those?” and only THEN crying in despair after realizing he had just complimented harem pants! Muahahahahaah
This week I’m linked up to And Sew We Craft‘s party, join us!

Thanks Toni! I know, I feel like the second I decide to spend a certain amount of time on sewing, everything around me purposefully tries to make sure I don't get to it ๐

Thanks Bestie ๐ My husband is now sure to add that the only reason compliments arrive is because our baby rocks the pants
