Last week has been really busy, so I only got to do a couple of small projects that I want to show off. Last week, Alyce from Blossom Heart Quilts did an impromptu swap of some of her fabrics, I chose a FQ (fat quarter) set of very cute Matreshkas fabric, which I have a soft spot for, being Russian and all. In return she wanted some quilting blenders in a couple of colors. I didn’t want to just send her the fabric, so I made a zipper pouch envelope to carry the woven cargo across the East China Sea.
I mostly followed this tutorial. I have the most delicious stamp fabric that I just had to put to good use and I really liked the results. I used cotton batting inside and everything else is constructed as a pretty standard zipper pouch. Such a quick and satisfying project.
I also put together another parcel for a Sweet Little Pretties FQ swap which had me send two fat quarters to my partner in US (I will update her info as soon as she gets the pouch!) I figured I will make another envelope pouch, because, well I think they are cute so I don’t need any other excuse! My round mark turned out to be a bit of a mess, but I’m just going to blame that on the post office, poor guys have to take heat for so many things already.
Besides a couple of FQs (the theme was spots and stripes), I included a Taiwan postcard as well as a really cute bag hook. My partner is a college student so I figured she could use that instead of putting her purse on the floor.
Hope you enjoyed the envelopes, I definitely enjoyed making them!
