This is Julia Sweater by Compagnie M in double stretch knit. I made this whole top using my serger, something I’m very proud of, although I am on “one serger stitch fits all” wagon as I still haven’t figured out how to make adjustment for any other kind.
I bought scraps of this softest knit fabric ever from fabric market more than a year ago and the ribbing on the cuffs and waist came from my mom’s old sweatshirt that I saved from a recycling bin probably right after my daughter was born.
I chose a split collar option and I absolutely love it, it looks so sweet and really adds such an interesting detail to the shirt. The size is 2T and I like that it’s a bit baggy but not overly big for my 20 months old.
Really, I love this pattern, once all the parts were cut I made the shirt in one evening, I just adore projects like that.
I really should make more clothes for my kids, as it makes me so happy to see them wear it!!
Linking up with Straight Grain’s Sew +Show over here!!
I love your fabric, and at the split neck detail! This is so stylish and comfy at the same time. Makes me want to buy this pattern!
Thanks Beth!! I think it's a great pattern, and there are many options on how to customize it, you should definitely look into it!
Cute! And on a cutie too.
Our girls are the same age, so please consider imitation to be flattery. ๐
Love seeing your kids on the blog ๐ Sewing for them is so much fun hey! Your little girl's Julia looks awesome! Love the print and the shape of the collar. I am yet to get this pattern. I need to work out where to get good knits without having to sell my liver to pay for fabric where I live!
Oh it is really cool. Not only do you like seeing them wear it but as they get older (and can articulate) they love it too! Well done bestie x
